Somethingski Trio is a musical project led by vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Nikodem Soszyński, known, among other things, for his work with the Freeborn Brothers. Together with the Freeborn Brothers, he gained wide recognition, performing hundreds, if not thousands, of concerts in various locations across Europe and around the world.
In 2020, they released their first album titled „THINGS,” which hit the market in early 2021. One of the tracks from this album, titled „Na Dolinach,” gained popularity, claiming the top spot on the Podkarpacka Chart of Hits. This album consists of ten tracks, presenting diverse musical styles – from folk and rock to dance hits, reminiscent of the 70s Polish pop music.
In 2022, in collaboration with the award-winning folk singer Daria Kosiek, Somethingski Trio recorded and released the album „PUSZCZA.” While based on traditional folk music from the Lasowiackie region, this material was performed in a modern style. Thanks to this album, the band gained recognition and qualified for the prestigious „Mikołajki Folkowe 2022” competition.
At the beginning of 2023, the second album of the band titled „Howl We Are Free” was released, featuring two singles: „Holy, Holy” and „Od Północy do Południa.” The latter spent several weeks on the Radio Rzeszów chart.
To date, the band has had the opportunity to perform in various European countries such as Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, France, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. Additionally, the band has played at several outstanding festivals including Muddy Roots Festival 2022, Roots in Het Park 2022, Broken Necks Festival 2023, Jarmark Garncarski 2022, Zilleghem Folk Festival 2023, Cursus Festival 2023, and Rockowisko 2023. Furthermore, the band has had the pleasure of performing at renowned clubs in Europe, such as MEZZ Breda and Patronaat Harlem in the Netherlands, as well as De Kaai in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Energetic songs, interwoven with humor and more reflective compositions, guarantee excellent entertainment during Somethingski Trio’s concerts.
